PROBLEM Most collegiate athletic training programs focus on strength and conditioning instead of balance or having a fluid range of motion and flexibility. Research shows that athletes who have been trained in dance and aerobics are more agile, fluid and quick on their feet, therefore improving their performance in a game, and making them less prone to serious injury. However, many athletes do not often try dance or aerobic training due to the feminine, delicate persona of many of these programs.
OBJECTIVE Provide a comfortable and convenient setting for athletes to confidently learn these skills alongside their peers. SOLUTION Create an athletic training program that uses dance and aerobic techniques to improve athletic performance, using marketing to show it can be competitive, tough and challenging. The program will dispense professionals to teach at schools and gyms to assist a range of athletes, from collegiate teams to beginner athletes. Advertising will range from distributed brochures to event jumbotrons. Student project created at Syracuse University's Communications Design program.
